Scott Kalitta Crash, More Oil Production, VW Beetle, Lamborghini Las Vegas - 06/23/2008

over the last couple of weeks there have been a few deaths of the older racing crowd and I am sad about this. But racing is dangerous. Personally I think that they were happy or at least as happy as one can be under the circumstances. BON CHANCE MES AMIS. or the old stand by. VIYA CON DIOS. they had been doing what killed what they were doing for a lot of years. I hope that when the grim reaper comes for me I hope that I am doing something that I love.

The majority of our oil comes from Canada and Mexico, followed by Venezuela, then Saudi Arabia and so on down the line.  There really isn't that much oil in Alaska.  And we don't buy gas from these other countries - 95% of the gasoline used in the US is refined in the US.  Gas prices are set by futures traders and speculators.  Crude prices are set by foreign countries who our current administration chooses to do business with in order to line their own pockets.

The bottleneck is not a bottleneck, but a bunch of speculators who, like the .com boom of the late 90's have lost their collective f***g minds and have gone apenuts on oil futures.  Legislation to limit runaway speculation will drop oil prices faster than those sheiks in Dubai can ski down the slopes of their indoor ski slope.

I think it's funny people are flocking to buy mexican oil.  Maybe some of the illegals can get jobs running the convenience stores in Tijuana.

I keep hearing people say the gas prices will be dropping.  Don't believe it will stay low for very long.

I like that VW Ragster.  Now if they would drop in a more powerful engine.  That would be nice.

The bottleneck in the supply of petrol products IS NOT the supply of crude, it is the lack of refineries and the existing refineries not being allowed to run at full capacity due to EPA regs. EPA regs make the building of new refineries nearly impossible.
