Paris Auto Show, Venturi, Jagaur XKR-S, Fiat Dino - 10/03/2008

How come you guys don't ever do any test drives?  If you have before then nevermind, but I'd think you guys could do a quick Top Gear style of review.

Wow lota comments on the Jag. I agree its biring that they dont really do anythign new with it...the engine in particular...but i definitely think its one of the most beautiful cars on the road. Hell, its like an Aston Martin which is alot more affordable and which you can drive everyday without worrying about where you park it...etc.
So I think the new XKRS is cool...but ITS NOT COOL that they didnt put a damn stick in it like they did in the XKRR concept.

Renault was cool...but not so cool that its a purpose built tube-frame racer and its not street legal.

First of all, the news about the Jaguar XKR-S is old.... that car has been on sale in UK since June. Also the news about it not coming to the US market is old. It is essentially the same car as the XKR sold in US, just with a recalibrated speed limiter.
As for the XJ220 (not XK220 as DD said), it is an amazing car. Drove one about 2 years ago, and while it doesn't sound very good and the brakes are pretty weak, it goes like nothing else, when the turbo's wake up. Luv it.

What a bunch of douche bags over there at Jag-u-ar. Who the hell buys these things? And why? Pretty much every Euro (hell, even domestic and Jap) manufacturer has some sort of secret sauce in their back pocket when making a car, that...you know...makes it desirable. Not Jag. 

Jags 'newest, fastest' rod is a total disappointment. Hell, there are 10,000 pound Bently's faster than this piece of shit.

Hey Fast Lane Daily Guys.  Just a quick thanks for my daily dose of hard auto news, some much needed humor, and even Derek D, who is the greatest host in the world.  It's daily ritual to come back from lunch, and see what you're serving up.

I don't think anybody online,  or anywhere delivers car news the way you guys do.  And where else to you get a toilet-mouthed squirrel as well?  Keep up the good work, don't mess with a good thing, and give Alex and Carrie a kiss for me.  Sorry DD.

How come new cars seem to be shitter than the old legends.
The RX8 is slower than and RX7
The LFA is slower than the supra...
Challenger is slower than Viper....
Mustang is slow than the old mustang....

Yep, the comments were pretty weAk this week.  Not mention mine, but it was just that...a comment.  Who really cares about getting the C.O.W.?  And look around, there ARE other news on other manufactures...check around.  And do you phuggin home FLD, or at least get someone who knows what the hell they are talking about.  Seriously, X"K"220?  C'mon!  I thought everyone knew its called XJ220.

The comments were weak, probably because the show has been weak lately.  Give us something new, something fresh...you know...the things you advertise you're giving us.
