fsjgw...I think Hyundai will fair pretty well in the luxury sedan market. After all, try getting a 10 year warrantee with Mercedes, Porsche, BMW and VW. You left out Audi, but still, they don't offer better protection either. And when you have a problem with the Hyundai, you're not going to get killed on the repair bill after the other makes warrantee expire. With the Genesis, you get a lot of car for the money. Hyundai have come a long way in the short time their cars made it to our shores.

MB GL450, Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg, BMW X5, they get great mpg (identical or worse than the "big" Detroit suv's). Don't forget the new for 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser/Lexus LX570. This market is hard on every car maker, 0% financing at Toyota, 0.9% financing at BMW, and who is going to buy a -38K Hyundai Genesis? It might be a great car, but really k? I don't know who will survive. So glad the president and congress passed the bailout plan that has absolutely NO OVERSIGHT. Yep really helps out you and me, no new car for me ANY time soon.

Well the news about the closing of the Janesville GM plant is shocking. That's the town where I grew up and I have a lot of family there. The GM plant is the life-blood of that community. If it gets shut down completely that will be disastrous for that local economy. I hope the best for those workers and their families this winter. On a different note, Derek, the Jamaican joke sucked. When is Alex going to be on again?

It looks like there is some hope for the American car market. We finally realized huge SUVs are a bad idea... it seems so obvious now! Now all we need is for the big 3 quarters (is there another term we should be using instead of Big 3 now that VW is in the mix?) to bring over all the cars they sell in Europe. Then I might actually consider buying domestic again. Except for the Cobalt that shit was gold from day one.
