Oh, mrwheeler, the Germans did such a great job for Chrysler!!!  It'd be better if the Japanese or Koreans bought GM.

History has a way of repeating.  I seem to remember a certain presidential canidate saying that....hmmm.  

Cars are (supposedly) coming to the states almost promising cars at a fraction of the cost of on the competitors.  

If Bruce Wayne really existed, he'd have a FasterOne.  That car is SO Batman-ish.  I'd like to win that from Sam's Club than some stupid hybrid car.  

GM can blame themselves...and the UAW.  For 25 years, UAW concessions have made GM less competitive than foreign workers.  When they started doing well with trucks and cashing in -K per truck, instead of investing those profits in new technology such as hybrids, alternative fuels and investments, they waited.

Imagine what would happen if China starting selling cars here for 95.  It'd be the 1980's (like Japan's entry into the market) all over again.  Remember?  A fuel crisis was happening in the mid 1970's...sound familiar...the economy was in the toilet, the country was at war...all  sound familiar?  The Japanese started bringing little, cheap cars here and it rapidly eroded the Big Three market share.

Today, the Japanese and Koreans are here...and next, the Chinese.  GM better globalize and think smaller or their days are numbered, I fear.

Who told Weber that speed was all that matters? It's not hard to find fast cars nowadays, but gorgeous fast cars are hard to come by. Apparently. (the foot part made me laugh so hard I had to watch it like 6 times over again, not even kidding)

Smart4me: Actually I'm pretty sure the Chevy Volt is on top of the mpg race so far, and nobody cares about Fifth Gear coming to the states, because it isn't Top Gear, and Top Gear is here already anyways. (and in Australia and soon in Russia)

  One word to the entire GM group and Ford - Downsize. Toyota and a lot of other auto companies outside the States have been doing that for ages.

So far The biggest shocker of the year.... FORD to win the MPG race with a fusion!!!!!!! Hopefully they can start selling them before they start stinking and go belly up. What about the new honda entry level hybrid. Tell me some news on Smart Fortwo. Nothing is happening?

I say tough titty GM, that is what you get for making crappy cars. I just feel sorry for all the employees that aren't part of the top tier that made all the bad decisions. I hope VW or BMW buys them so we can have some Germans come in and show us how to make proper cars.
