Chrysler Gas, Nissan 370Z, No Toyota Wallpaper, Callaway V16, Mercedes Gullwing - 11/17/2008

I didn't sign @#$%^ when I bought my Toyota, so I can take as many #$%^ photos as I want and Toyota can #$%^ my $%^!  @#$%^es!

I thought Callaway was a cool tuning company not a japanese motocicle engine assembly. They should've stayed with the sledgehammer marketing idea!!!

Toyota: Go EFF yourself.  You people are INSANE! Besides: who the EFF wants a picture of a Toyota ANYTHING as a wallpaper...they haven't made anything decent since the Supra in 1998, 10 years ago.

Here's a thought: fire your attorneys and take the money to finish developing the Supra's replacement like you've been doing for 10 years.

I'm sure that Active Diff switch on the 370Z will cause the diff to blow in approximately 3,000 miles and void its warranty.  

I saw the Toyota story today on Digg, so pretty much the whole internet knows.  I'm sure it's hit all the other major links sites by now.

As for Toyota's claims, they are completely off base.
1) the person who took the photograph owns the copyright, not the person who made what they took the photograph of.   I had the same BS tried on my at a clothes store saying i couldn't legally take a picture of their stuff.

2) Even if they did own all the copyrights in question, they failed to properly file a DMCA takedown notice.  In a proper notice, you need to identify each and every work that you own the copyrights to and be able to prove that you do, or face perjury charges.  With any luck, this guy will go to the EFF who loves giving free legal help against DMCA abuse.

Toyota has no grounds to stop people from photographing and then posting pictures of their products. Assuming that the issue is being reporting accurately, Toyota needs to rein in its lawyers pronto. These stories often spread quickly, and whip up a lot of anti-corporate sentiment. A search for 'toyota lawyers TorrentFreak' shows this story making the rounds fast. The way car sales have dropped, no auto maker can afford to alienate people.

I'll take it a step farther than hiplazma: When your entire new product line is  nothing but the blandest automotive appliances, ticking off remaining Toyota enthusiasts seems stupid. On the other hand, maybe Toyota figures enthusiasts won't by their products anyway.

Toyota don't make a car that i would take a picture of now.

If I take a pic of my mr2 that I bought with my own money, how the fuck does toyota own the picture. I think it is stupid as hell. I don't know how they are getting away with this but it needs to stop
