Why do young people always go for the American cars? Seriously, if the next 2 cars aren't foreign I'm gonna flip a shit. For 40 grand you could get a nice 3 series convertible or somthin better than those crap cars. If I had to pick I'd say the Challenger.

GET THE CHELLEGER. You'd look ten times better pulling into work with that thing plus no one on the road has anything close to that yet.

Solstice GXP Targa or the Challenger?!  Those are the exact two cars Im looking at!!!  I'm going with the Soltice GXP targa.  you just can't beat carving the roads in a two seater that can go 0-60 in 5.5 and return 28 mpg.  Good luck,  if you choose the Challenger, you might want to wait and see the Camaro first!!  422 hp w/ the six speed for less than the SRT8!

Hey Derek D... between the solstice and the Challenger SRT8 i think the SRT8 would be more fun, roomier, and more practical than the solstice.  Go american muscle!

Hey Derek, get the GXP. buying muscle isn't the right move in today's world. the GXP would be a much more socially responsible move.

Besides, you cant argue with a 260hp turbo-4, and nimble handling.

the srt is a cruiser, the gxp is for drivers.

First of all, you guys are teasing me by calling the show "fast lane DAILY".  Shouldn't you call it "fast lane 5 days a week"?  I wish it was daily.  And secondly, am I the only one who hates spykers?  I mean seriously was the car designed by a twelve year old?  The only thing remotely attractive about the car is the exposed shift linkage.  Form follows function guys whos the target market for a spyker anyway?  I know, someone who has a flouresent green honda civic with a broken body kit who just happened to win the lottery. Derek D, forget about the Challenger and the GXP and any other car u might be thinking of buying. Go and get yourself a fast, luxurious, C 63 AMG. You'll be going 0-60 in 4.3 seconds with up to five people in the car. It will get all the hot girls you ever wanted. 

wow, AWESOME friggin coverage from the LA auto show FLD! I so agree with "Lukas", this show gives me car news and Derek D is funny as f*ck while doing it...I like the challenger DD but i think the soltice targa GXP is pretty nice too, the challenger is big and weighty so personally I'd go with the GXP, either is cool though, obviously just depends on your preference...great coverage FLD FTW!

I found this episode pretty entertaining!!! And Derek if you have the cash for an SRT8 you should take a BMW 335iCoupé with M-Sportpack  or 135i.

I dont know if i should laugh or cry. Bad episode. Come on guys make an effort to report and not screw around the whole time. The skits are funny, but the running thing was so stupid. It made me want to stop watching but i didnt because i still like the show. anyways just quit making such stupid shit sometimes.

Great show DD!!! That crazy salesman stunt was a nice touch - and all the haters should watch some boooooooooooring reviews for car magazines. If I want specs I do google. If I want entertainment and cars I watch FLD. And yes - Alex is hot - on the next car show put them together.

The Challenger only looks good. Every test/review I have read mentions it is a heavy pig, which it is. Think about how much hp that car has and then look at its ¼ mile vs. other 400+ hps cars…that says it all. Most 4-cylinder sports cars get the same figures these days. I would scratch that one off my list 100%. 

  GM is still hellbent on flogging the public with their dinosaur gas guzzling pick-up trucks and car, what the effing bloody sh... and they want billions of dollars in bail out assistance to save their irrelevant and ailing company along with Ford and Chrysler.
  What a joke, they fly into Washington with their own jets asks for huge sums of cash to help them out, not even blink an eyelid or say a word when asked if they want to give-up their own jets to finance their woes which they themselves are to blame for not doing anything for a long numbers of years...

  Listen Derek D., best use you're hard earned pay packet on a reliable, safe and better Japanese car/and or sportcar.
  

If you have the $$ for a Challenger... Just get a Bmw 135, or a ///M3.

plus as far as i know the targa solstice is about half as expensive as a challenger... plenty of money left over to buy all kinds of performance parts for it

never ever get the mustang, and only get the challenger if you're into the retro-cool trend that seems to be sort of popular nowadays.

the gxp will easily outperform the challenger in anything but pure straight-line acceleration, and it's definitely far better looking. plus, chicks dig solstices. they're like fioranos for normal people. 

the challenger reeks dude power but it's too canned. if i wanted a muscle car i'd get a nova or a gto off of craigslist or somewhere like that. you'd be surprised what you can get for the money.

solstice is more practical, the chicks dig them, and if you've seen the mallett solstice pitbull v8 then you're aware of how kick-ass a widebody kit and a crate v8 are in one.

Challenger SRT8 > Solstice by far. Unless you like auto-x or stuff like that, the Challenger is a garbage handle. Don't forget about a Mustang GT though

For the love of God, Get the Challenger instead of that GXP thing.  It's less-manly than the Mercedes SLK, if that's even possible.  The Spyker is awesome but I don't think anyone can buy it until the auto executives get their bailout funds.
