Big 3 Bailout, Porsche Panamera, Volvo S60, BMW M1 - 11/24/2008

I solved the GM problem; GM must kill off Saab, Hummer, Pontiac, Buick, Saturn, and GMC. All of these brands share many parts and are in fact the same cars but with different bodies. For each division the company must support: marketing, R&D, design, parts inventory, databasing and distribution, and manufacturing facilities for each model of each brand of GM-owned cars. GM phased out oldsmobile and not one person cared or noticed. These pedestrian and lack-luster GM brands are pulling down GM and will lead to its demise. If you want a luxury GM car, get a Caddy. If you want basic transportation, do what Derek D did and get a Cobalt. You want luxury SUV get a top-spec Suburban (while they are still being made). GM only needs Chevy for the American working man and the Caddillac for the retirees in Florida (God's waiting room). Another point, if I may, with the Depression only months away, how does Porsche with the Panamera, and Aston with the Rapide think they are going to sell these four-door sports cars!? Especially the One-Seven-Seven at over id="comment_list"M a copy! Just a thought.

When Mercedes goes to build a "4-door coupe" it somehow manages to come out looking sexy (although the rest of its line does nothing for me). When Porsche tries, it comes out looking like a flattened Cayenne and more closely related to a station wagon. Between that and the (decent looking) BMW X6 I can foresee this new "coupe" re-branding becoming very cliche very quickly. Like right now.

I hope that Holden, Opel, Vauxhall and Daewoo get sold off, as their crash would not be good seeing as they actually release new models each year.....unlike the rest of GM. Is that guy at the end the producer/director (aka "the man"), acting cool? If it is him - good effort. New Porsche is a SAAB in disguise. I dont like it. New M1 is NASCA in new paint I also agree with previous comment about s60.....i like it. Looks like a angry jag

I'd like to see how Porsche would do a retro 914. The 924 was just a piece of high priced VW shit slapped together. I can see the Panamera catching on. People were hypocritical of the Cayenne, yet that is a good selling vehicle. The BMW M1 looked awesome back in the late 70's and still does. Maybe instead of a hybrid system for the car, they would look into turbo diesel...? Give Audi some competition. The big 3 should fire the executives first, file for bankruptcy and start fresh. Maybe then, the new executives would learn by example of previous lavish spending, and do their friggin jobs. Make cars that are fun to drive and fuel efficient. Finally with the profits, put that into new technology for future cars.

The most over-hyped super-sedan from Porsche really looks like a putrid turd with that ugly rear quarters and fat arsed behind. In contrast the new Volvo S60 is proportionately muscular and quite good looking.

Why should we bail these arrogant fucks out? Please, they all show up in there private jets (don't give me the crap about being more efficiant i aint buying what you are selling) and ask for our help. It would be like any one of us showing up at the welfare office in out new Bentley trying to get money so we can pay for our summer home staff. If we have to pay we should decide who runs the companys and my vote is too get rid of every one of the CEO's and the useless board of directors that help them. My guess is our government will bail them out because they run things exactly the same way, what's a few billion here or a few billion there the working people will pay for it. Don't get me started on the Unions. The Volvo looks sweet.
