Dubai doesn't have any oil, never did IIRC. It's one of seven emirates (kinda like states) that make up the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It gets it's money from the other emirates. It's the second largest of the seven: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain. Saudi Arabia has nothing to do  with the UAE. 

Dubai has some outstanding and creative buildings and projects. They are creating an area, just off the coast of Dubai City, that's supposed to be representative of all the continents of the world.

I thought better of you than to make the apperently so common american mistake to think that Sweden = Switzerland!
Car buffs like you (and me) should know that wintertesting by european manufacturers is almost exlusively done in SWEDEN!
Not that I dislike Switzerland in any way (on the contrary), but what we Swedes and Americans most definately have in common is national pride!

The way I see it, the island really belongs to us, the Americans, because Sheik Al Bad-a-land-a-bad, or whatever his name his, paid for the island using revenues from oil bought by Americans. 

Alternatively, the Saudis still owe us from preventing Saddam from annexing their oil-refinery wasteland of a country back in 1991. 


Therefore, every American is entitled to a free timeshare stake and free track time on the island.

I'm first in line, though.
