BMW Concept Gran Turismo, Lamborghini Murcielago SV, Porsche Autobahn Crash, Mazda RX-9 - 02/13/2009

C30R ... take an Audi A3, cheapen it and add a bit of Volvo styling. I actually liked this car when I saw it on the Auto Show circuit a few years ago. But no doubt Volvo did to Audi what Lexus does to BMW and Mercedes.

thanks FLD, bummer about the porche tester and the volvo (all though 28mpg isn't bad).

it seems like a good strategy to put a concept in a movie before you even announce that there is a concept since it will keep people guessing " what is that?", "what kind of car is that?", "is that going to be a new car?"

As an owner of a c30 I want to strangle you for wasting the opportunity to open peoples eyes about this car. Maybe tom is blind but the whole point of the c30 is to break away from the stereotypical volvo image. And he's crying about plasticy interior? It's the same exact thing as in the c70 and s40. Nothing shocking there. How about letting people know about the brilliant t5 engine which is the base on which the new focus rs engine is built? We have people in the c30 community that are safely pushing 300hp with just a tune and exhaust. Such an underestimated car. More comfortable than both the Gti and the mini and on par with performance numbers. Also it's thousands less then the A3. Is it perfect. He'll no. Ive already had some service issues with it but to sum it up in three completely irrelevant sentences was just pathetic. And it's not like you don't know how to do it right either. RX8 was never a replacement for the RX7. I drove the last gen 7 with the twin turbos, man what a rocket! It was sooo light. It was a track race car for the street.

FLD Tours is dumb needs to be longer it is to short more about how is drive and the tech on the inside how it feels to drive. IT IS TOO SHORT 
I like the idea but need to work on it.

nice show,  i think FLDetours should have more about the feel of driving the car. This is a car blog, i and many others care more about the handling characteristics of the car than the plastic interior

You're kidding me right, all these auto makers across the world and we already have two Volvo's on FLD Tours.  Not even one of DD's cars of polls were tested.  Have you really had an elaborate episode on Volvo, probably not because we viewers really don't care.  Keep up the show, it's still great to comment.

We all know a lot of guys/gals also vote for that "car" simply because they like or loathe or are just being plain patriotic.
   But I do know it's more about patriotism that's running the show, which is why it will be the Solstice and not one of the two Euros ( which I believe is so much better - by a mile and in black - than Pontiac's )

   BMW just wants to be ahead of Audi's concept A7 in their release of this GranTurismo - which ain't bad, actually it is that bad. The Audi A7 is just so much better.

WTF man, you tempt us with that promo of a burnout then all we get about the C30R is how "unsafe you feel" and how the precious your "man space" access needs to be.........WTF. Bus Lane Daily Detours.........except for DD he takes the short bus to work.
Other than that another great show.

Im sorry.. but What kind of FLD tours was that?... You call that a review?... Derik D asked the question "is the Volvo Volvo C30 a hot hatch?"  And so the answer: " i dont feel that safe" "plasticy" " slim line dash" ..... well great... but that dosent even begin to answer the question is the Volvo C30 R-Design a hot hatch or not... let alone how does it drive.... who cares how the dash feels if it's an awsome drive... or vice versa.  Please let us kno the important bits next time FLD- still the best!

I guess BMW just doesn't care what goes out the doors anymore. I mean, the X6 is the least popular car (that's right, I said CAR) on their line as it does nothing well. Now they want to show off a wagon to compete against themselves?? If I were Tom Purves, Chairman & CEO of BMW USA, I'd call chuck Norris to beat the shit out of me....
