Derek shows more enthusiasm for GM products then the new CEO of GM. Nice to see some positive press on the people that actually produce the cars. We just need Fast Lane Daily to show GM management how to strip down GM's product line and keep the best just like the editors at FLD.

im all late on the episode, but it totally rocked! I voted for the GXP because even though i am a german car fan. We dont all gotta have germans. GXP looks hot anyways, i just have beef with the materials and quality that they are built with. I know, there is a 2006 dodge dakota pickup in the driveway and all the american cars have the same cheap feeling. Renting one will answer the question. I definitely give props to the people who work there, they put in a lot. The problem is the money hungry bean counters that keep doing cuts on quality, work benefits, job security and everything else. Its understood, that greed is why derek d is always hearing thunder for the past 7 months.

HOT!!! I almost stalled my Solstice GXP leaving the lot, but then I totally stalled it getting into my driveway at home... The base Solstice already had a short clutch but the GXP is just insanely short. The plant is awesome, Wilmington ROCKS! BMW or VW would have never given you the same type of experience.

That is Sweet mobile, enjoy it may be worth quite a bit someday...

The workers there really took you in. Why did you act like such a tool? I'd think you were a jerk if you came into my work and acted like that. At least you gave them the credit they deserve at the end. Anyway, sweet car, I really like the looks of the coupe. Now you gotta learn how to drive it. PS: The stall at the end is no big deal, it takes a little bit to get used to a new or different clutch than what you are used to.

what a stupid segment. why do we care about pumping up an american car company that's toast anyway? they did themselves in AND the tax payers that bailed them out too I might add. Is Derek and FLD that stupid to pump a company that fucked the american consumer?

Good PR for Pontiac, pity the company as a whole is on the doldrums... GTI is better.

Two things, One, So the Bmw 128 would have won but, all the guys there all cheated by voteing for the Gxp? Next, I am praying the Gxp a is F***ing MT! (and yes i did vote for the Bmw)

to bad there wont be many more solstice gxp's made as GMs idea of a good car is a HHR or that terrain thing and they have doomed the future of some otherwise descent cars.

Beautiful car D. Everyone at the factory seem like they really enjoy what they do. Let's hope they can continue to do it for many years to come.

Great Episode! Those people at the factory work so hard and take so much pride in what they do. It's sad to see the automakers is the bind they are in. Sweet car DD. I'm guessing you have the 2nd 2009 Solstice GXP.

So let me get this straight, you will own the 2nd Solstice Coupe GXP made? If so, that thing might be worth a few dineros 40-50 years down the line when we are all driving imaginary boatmobiles powered by Spongebob Squarepants.

Nice episode. These people work hard and do a good job. You have to admit that American car quality is not an issue anymore. Maybe design is the Issue.
