A Supercompetitor for GM?, BMW 5-Series GT, NJ Cops - 05/22/2009

Hey Guys loved the detour about Audi a3 specially because about that small mention: "normal car but you can put an aftermarket chip and exhaust and u got a beta car" some of us cant really afford an R8 or a R35 so it is good to know what there is out there and people can tune. It is still not in my price range because I am still a student so my 97 Toyota Levin BZR has to do in the mean time. Love you're short stories..... That BMW GT is totally fugly. The front looks like a five series with two black eyes. The back looks like some sort of Ssanyong and the profile looks like an X6 with broken suspension. It is the most incoherent piece of design I have ever seen with a blue and white propeller badge on the nose, and further proof that Bimmers suck and the people who drive them are dicks.

Being a retired cop, Good job on the good cop-bad cop info. That being said, When guys test drive the cars it would look better and I wouldn't cringe if they stayed in their lane when the made left turns (Audi).

JF's facts were a bit off. You can get the Quattro AWD system on the 2.0T, but will put you over ,000. A cool ,000 more for the 3.2. For the money, instead of opting for the 3.2, you can tune the 2.0T for less the price of the top of the line A3. Save even more money by tuning a used A3, since they haven't changed that much.

I'm a little confused on the A3 review; JF talked about four wheel drive and the price tested you list can only be reached with the Quattro model or 3.2, but he was driving a front-wheel drive model. Just wondering where the disconnect is.

"Oh that was a nut shot a little bit" -Derek D Classic. Nice job on the FLDetour today JF. I like that you talked a little bit about the tuning aspect of it. That's what interests me the most. My method has always been, get what you can afford and tune it up to what you want, starting with a decent base car is very important. Nice new haircut too. It would be interesting to see what these former GM car companies, and GM for that matter, will do for their own car platforms. It seemed that they just re-badged other cars with slight tweaks for many years. We are definitely in interesting times.
