The Camaro up until its recent incarnation was an F-Body. It shared its frame and suspension components with the Firebird. Older models (70's) shared parts with the X-Body Nova and LeMans. The G-Body Buick Grand National shared its underpinnings with the Monte Carlo, Malibu, Grand Prix and Cutlass Supreme.

Ford really has to do something else with the Mustang. Nice improvements on the exterior, but my gripe is with the engine. Pretty much the same'o, same'o in the engine bay. 315hp is not impressive at all coming from a 4.6L V8. I'd rather have the new Camaro with the V6. It has about 10hp less, but much better fuel economy. Ford should have thought outside the box and put in the 3.5 twin turbo as in the Taurus SHO that's coming out soon. I can live with 2 less cylinders to feed and 50hp more. Less weight and better fuel economy.
