They should add that new winter Subaru in the Dirt game and build some snow tracks... or maybe include it in GranTurismo 5 which also have a few WRC dirt, snow, mud tracks. That sure is quite a long rant... below.. let's just say most "good" American cars won't ever see the light of day in other countries, unlike Lexus.

O.K. to the idiots commenting here, and the over achieved, yet truly under educated and mis-informed. This car is far from just another Aura, Malibu, Opel Insignia. Yes it is built on the same global platform architexture, but so was the Pontiac G8 which was a Holden. The fact i9s the Buick is larger than the Malibu, Aura. It is front drive because just as he pointed out it is not a sporty car and they do not want it to cannibalize Cadillac. It , I would not doubt an AWD version may come in the future. They are actuaLLY TRYING TO DIRECTLY COMPETE WITH lexus IN THIS SEGMENT. which, IF ANYBODY Noticed FOR A LONG TIME bUICK HAS BEEN UP THEIR IN QUALITY WITH lexus. Also if anybody actually paid attention Lexus is starting to have the same problem, that it is an old peoples luxo-cruiser, for people who can not drive, and or do not want sporty cars. I mean talk about badge engineering Toyota has done it for ever. Camry/Lexus ES, now Prius is even a got a Lexus counterpart, and They share more than just batteries it even looks like a Lexusized Prius. Come on people stop being sheep, and just because Car and Dribbler, or Moterwhim makes an opinion does not mean you should think the same. The Opel is actually already working on new architecture, the Malibu is the car for the masses in this segment. The Aura, well it was decent looking, but long in the tooth, and not as refined as the Malibu or Buick, and alas is dead with THE SKY, a Car GM should resurrect as a Chevy model, or even a Buick model. The G8 was the coolest example of all of these cars as far as Sporty, rear drive, performance. The Buick is has more features and luxury than a model, but is far from a CTS in many ways. They now have a car for the masses, one for upper middle class execs older segment, and those not worried about performance, and finally for the crowd that wants a world class performance and luxury car ie: Cadillac. GM biggest problem still is that they have to many brands. They do not need GMC trucks to be producing trucks for the public, it should only be a commercial vehicle division. It waste valuable advertisement dollars, and competes against Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac. The other problem is weather or not they can really need three divisions of cars and can Buick continue to produce a full line of vehicles that reside in the middle providing more than chevy, but less than cadillac in features, performance, and luxury. The next problem, is that Now they want to keep Opel as Opel. GM should pick two or three brands to produce cars world wide, and their marketing and advertising would go further and have stronger brand Identity world wide. The Corvette is another example of a problem. The corvette is technically under the Cheverolet division, but in reality is its own brand, and if they want it to compete, and possibly have different Corvette variations to compete, then it would be better under the cadillac moniker, since it is supposed to be a higher end vehicle, or just simply under the Corvette brand itself. This brand since it is a small niche vehicle could be its own brand and maybe the Sky could be a low end model under the Corvette moniker, where Corvette would become the American Variant of Porche or Ferrari. But could accomplish this with Cadillac, like Nissan does with the GTR. Could go on and on , but I think my point is made.

I say the Lacrosse looks like a jaguar XF. Just sayin...

Perhaps it is Canada only but we can get a fully loaded Lacross here with AWD. Its an awesome car.

The problem with Buick becoming the Twitter Bug of the car world is that people tend to stick with what they're used to. Just because someone hits the age of 70 doesn't mean that they're more apt to buy a Buick. As with Caddies, Buick's core demographic is dieing off, and it needs new customers to suck into the fray. I agree with you about the fact that historically, GM has been competing with itself more than is fiscally responsible, but Buick is very well thought of in China, and China will be buying more cars than America very soon, and will continue to do so into the foreseeable future. This car was designed by the Chinese for the Chinese, and as such, missed the mark for the American market. The fact remains however that the Buick is really just a Saturn Aura/Opel Insignia with different clothes compounded with the fact that the Opel is arguably a better car than either, and not available here. When will American car companies learn that American car buyers deserve the same attention paid to European car buyers?

This is not your grandfathers Buick, hum, that is the problem. GM has too many models from "different" brand that compete with each other, ultimately this hurts GM. Buick already has a solid buyer demographic, the old geezers. It might not be glamorous, but it is a solid buyer group, and they should stick with it instead of trying to tackle Lexus and Acura. The Buick LaCrosse and other Buick models need to be the automotive equivalent of the Jitterbug cell phone. You know the cell phone made for old people, large buttons and graphics. All Buicks should have seating levels that make it easy for old people to get in and out of, large dials and guages for those with poor eye sight and big buttons. Ultimately I think hat this "new" directive will fail and if it is a success, Buick will only take buyers of Cadillac.

The Acura TL is the "more aggressive of the bunch"? I'm sorry, but the Acura TL screams blandness, and the front end is ugly as all hell. The new Buick does look nice. Shows that the Americans are looking at the European competition rather closely.

I know everyone is up-in-arms about that new Buick, but come on, its a re-designed Saturn Aura! Compare the pics! Sure, its got a new face, and new lights, and fender flairs that are actually attached, but its the same, damn car! This is just more of the same from the General and will never stand up to the likes of anything that wasn't made in Korea. Except the Genesis... That thing will kung-fu kick the Buick in the face. WAAA TAAH!
