I have been watching Fast Lane Daily every day for about a year and a half, and this new shit just sucks. I watch it because yes, I get car news, but also, I like they people  (Derek D, JF, Leo etc.) because they are funny and it seems like they truly love what they do. I never minded that they episodes were over 5 minutes because I was ALWAYS entertained. This is absolute F*****G BULLSHIT!

I have been subscribing to Fast Lane Daily on iTunes for months. I will now take it off my iTunes until I hear that Derek D is back. You asshats move from one studio to another with him, expand your network with FLDetours, and now this? This is the internet version of Jay taking back his late night show. Stupid move that will get anyone smart who USED to watch the show to boycott it now.

I feel like I'm watching a Motor Trend video. Where in the he!! is Derek D.? Sure I watched the show for the car news highlights, but I can read! He was like half the show. 

I would also like to know where all the 411 on the new tech being released went? I would put down money that most of your viewers are also engineers. We can handle it. In fact it's the other half of the reason I watch the show. 

Now they're both gone. I've watched both the 18th and the 19th's videos and was equally disappointed by both. I'm going to give you guys a month to fix this, and then I'm going to discontinue my membership.

OMG this is more boring then watching James May talk about some mechanical part nobody wants to know about.  Why not just put some nerdy engineer on the screen and have him read the car pamphlet? As horrible as Derek D was, at least he was a host and not a disembodied voice. The new format is horrible. I'm not saying to bring back Derek, please don't do that, but there are plenty of knowledgeable auto journalists out there that could do the job.

I started watching FLD way back in 2007. So many different hosts have come and gone, I can't even remember all their names, but one thing remained the same, the show itself. People subscribe to the show because it works just the way it is. New faces every now and then keep it "fast and fresh", but the show goes on. 

If you want a new format, then create a new show! We (used to) subscribe to FLD because it is what it is. This new format is old, tired, and generally the same thing Motor Week's been peddling for the last 20 years on PBS. It's not new. It's not interesting. And it's been done to some extent or other by almost every automotive program in the world. Do you really think we'll stick around because you've suddenly got some grand, new (very old) idea? Think again. There are plenty of "fresher" programs to watch. (Very sadly) Bye.

Attention Mass Media Whores! Even though nothing was openly said, I'm sure you moved the filming location due to a change in ownership. Because you are new to this country, and/or, elderly, you more than likely have no idea what you bought or why it is as popular as it is. Fast Lane Daily's viewership is made up of mostly enthusiasts and car nutz (yes, that's with a "z" and if you don't get it, you never will). If we wanted to watch a twenty year old episode of MotorWeek, we would happily tune in our local public broadcasting channel. As it is, we don't and if you continue to pursue this course, we will not watch you as well. Be warned, we are your target market, we subscribed because we liked the format as it was, and we really do hate what you've done with the place. Please hire someone who is young and savvy enough to understand AYCOOYM, demote your existing commentator to reading recipe instructions to the blind, and go back to what works.

Derek has not been a leaf going brown, demoting its purpose, no Derek D actually got more entertaining, more sharper and more respected as time went on. He is the Tip Of The Spear. His appeal is broad, his personality is adearing. Not only is he a character live but after doing as many episodes as he is done you know he actually has a character to. He respects his fans and develops energy from them. I was really looking forward to this ep, after the show being on hiatus.  I was sorely disappointed.  Like many people who commented before, this show has lost it's soul.  People who loves cars clove cars with a passion.  Derrek D had passion. .While you don't "need" DD to have a show, he gave your show that special something that made it different.  I believe the technical TV term for what you just did is, "jumping a shark."

What's up with Fast Lane daily and where are you, is the episode released today a joke? I watch your show everyday and you and your team made the show worth watching, it's like the whole production or management team took some sort medication that removed all their knowledge of what the FLD viewers want, not to mention left them without an ounce humor. 

I don't often take the time to write notes like this, but as a 911 and STI driving, Top Gear watching, 37 British petrol head living in Canada, something I looked forward to each weekday evening has gone, without warning, consultation, explanation or good bye.

If your run at FLD was abruptly cut short by a bad decision made by management I wish you the best of luck in whatever comes next for you. But thank you for making a daily internet car show worth watching, that is until now.

Derek D's lame jokes and punch lines gave the show some soul that none of the other auto shows provide. If I want this monotonous sound and impersonal show, I can tune into any of the other auto shows that post online! LAME FLD... fix it or loose fans!!!!!!!!

Perfect example of how corporate idiots that have no clue what people really want! They will ignore the comments on here, and then site those that watch with some proof real or not stating that the majority of people will like this better, because it is more professional and mature!

Has anyone ever noticed corporate views of professional and mature, is stagnant, usually not as informative, because they miss the underlining detail and truth that the real world ie( normal everday people of almost all income levels) know, not to mention real world opinions, which is why a non personal, FLD is useless. We all have the skills to dig up the same news you do ourselves, and can get more specs and other things other places, but we liked the emotion and personality of the show, that is why we watched and that is what made fld! I like others will stop watching if FLD don't return to the old format! There was room for improvement, but it was already good, just trying to figure out how to be great. It had the potential to be a short Americanized type show that Top Gear is. JEZ and the boys are quirky, not always professional, but guess what they work! 
I will keep watching Matt on the Smoking Tire, and maybe DD can start something new and fresh, that we will all watch! Why do people think fun, funny, and quirky mean not mature and professional, why does boring bland, and usually less equal professional and mature? Only to those that have the idea that this is the truth, when it does not have to be!

I'm not OK with this. I was bored out of my mind. I'd rather read the press releases myself. It was cheesy, insincere, and unauthentic. I watched FLD for the fun and info, not just the info. Somebody forgot to do their market research. Or should have made an announcement in the video that you are still on break and that regular FLD will resume on a later date. And what, no car porn Monday? Come on guys. I'm ok with change, but not with changing the formula. I hope you guys are still listening, because I think that you have lost something really special if this is the new face of FLD.

I understand the network is growing up, but there is no longer anything special about the show. I thought the voice over was a joke at first, FLD's irreverence is it's tum€p card, don't completely eliminate it, with it gone so is your charm.  The Kelley Blue Book is now more entertaining.....that has got to hurt.

Ok, I'll be the first to comment on the content of the show and not its new format.  Is it just me, or does the Jetta Coupe look like an Audi A5?  

The Audi R4 is great.  Now if only they can keep the cost down and out sell the Telsa.

I almost fell asleep. A hosted show is much better IMO. Derek adds personality that is still interesting even if the car being shown is something I'm not interested in. If today represents the new format, I'll be gone for good. The show in this format isn't any better than reading autoblogs.

I'll admit, I'm usually completely brand loyal.  Often beyond good sense.  The new format does have a certain slick factor but the soul of the program is gone.  It'll be interesting to see if people adapt to it.  Personally, I'm out.  I'll check back once a week to see if there's been a reversal.  For now, though, I'll revel in my extra 5 minutes of productivity a day.  I'm leaving my email below in case the new producers want to send good news my way.  Good new being defined as something besides what I just saw being posted.  It was a good two year run for me.  I'm sad it's come to an end.

I am truly disappointed in the new product.  As other have mentioned before, the new format lacks soul.  There is no entertainment value at all.  I understand there may be greater forces at work, but if anyone from the old crew has any pull at all, I hope they can convince the powers that be to bring back the old format.

I understand that cutting costs sometimes need to happen but I personally watched this show for the entertainment value of it. I can get my car news from motortrend. I watched this show cause it was funny and entertaining. What is this crap? THIS WAS 200 steps backwards nextnewnetworks. Someone need to be fired (and not Derek D). If this is what fastlanedaily is going to continue to be, I won't be coming back.

while the "info" may be good... the new format is cold and impresonal.. nothing grabbed my attention except the hot red audi e-tron.  the voiceover sounds like an aircraft safety presentation.  too automated. or like an online tutorial, which i avoid like the plague..  i can just imagine how ShakeDown got butchered.  sorry guys, i know you worked hard on this, but...... guess i will be mourning the past days of automotive awesomeness that was once Fast Lane Daily with Derek D..  time to cry now.. :'(

Seriously? Seriously? This is the new format of FLD? After two years of watching every day I have to say goodbye.  Everything that made FLD different and entertaining is missing. I'll go back to watching Top Gear reruns on my DVR.
