24 Hours of Daytona Preview - SHAKEDOWN - 1/29/2010

Good Show Leo. Personally I think NASCAR would have more followers if they went back to basics and ran real cars and not a bunch of chevy engines in tube frames. The fact that this is effect the LeMans is very disappointing. Bring back the manufacturer wars and you;ll see both Racing's fan base and Automotive technology spike up. As always, less is more when dealing with regulations.

Say it as it is Leo!, good on you. --- GrandAm Prototype sucks, GT class somewhat better.. just --- NASCAR is all about hype but definitely not one iota of substance.

Leo, I agree with you that NASCAR has pulled apart US Road Racing. They are doing the same thing to the AMA with motorcycle racing. I am, however EXTREMELY happy for my friend Terry Borchellor that won his 2nd overall victory at the 24. Keep up the great work FDL!!

its all about money guys, For the hand full of guys that complain about DD, seems you all loose the fact that FLD made it big because of his efforts as anchor. like i said earlier, the girls were cute and decent at the job but D is the bread winner. Leo is obviously great (as he should be) and they compliment each other extremely well. But as we know in the end its all about money. Auto journalism needs a guy like DD and LEO, the same way we ALL have been elevated to new auto hieghts with the likes of TopGear and FifthGear hosts. There are people that dont like Jeremy Clarkson not because he's a true petrol head, but becuase he's not some pretender yupee acting like a petrol head for the show of it. D is new to the car game but he's just rite for this new car generation. he does a great job. people forget this really isnt an easy job to do ( the reason people do is because D makes it look so effortlessly easy) so stop complaining about what worked, after all, your getting this of FREE. they're not even asking for donations. very soon the web will be going pay per site. so enjoy it all whilst you can.

Leo got it right about Daytona and Nascar sucking. Its frustrating that Le Mans isn't televised in the US. That and F1 is the only racing worth watching. PS about Derek... He isn't unbeatable but you gotta do better than 2 assclowns and Mr. voiceover man.

Leo! Is the best! Why doesn't he host the show! He's articulate, speaks very well, pleasant voice! Mature, and Somewhat good looking (ok! I see tons of people ,, hey !! He's gay! You know what I mean! He's a pro! I wonder if all the damage with DD will ever be the same with the show! I think FLD should have some non hosted episodes! Oh Well! As long as Leo is there! I 'll be watching, even better I ;ll always watch! It's pretty much always entertaining! Keep it up! For me DD or not! I am in!

Bottom line not watching any racing that does not involve real cars besides F1. What is the point? So what if the engine in the car is based off a production engine, it does not matter if the car looks like an upside down roach! WE WANT TO SEE REAL CARS! Good show Leo. Oh and @ ramblinrandy's comment..... We are only watching still because we want to see if DD is coming back! They have been dropping hints like he's coming back so we are watching to see. Leo got it rite. No factory teams no interest. who wants to see those 'POPEYE SEA-HAG UGLY' daytona prototypes. Even ALMS has True Prototypes and Factory teams. more like the real 24hr Heur du mans. get me Vettes saleens vipers zonda's ferrari's lambos panoz mosler porsche lotus apollo's and all the other GT1 classes. and for peek sake america we gota do more than crappy nascar. as far as i see, Nascars done nothing to improve our cars. unlike F1 and ALMS

Ok everyone dont fuss too much, D will be back. Leo is proof. chances are, FLD is working the $$$ out with D. And $$$ is due for D. He's been 'THE' leader host that made this show what it is. And remember They tried other host's and failed. Squavelled over $$ a few months back, D walked and poof they brought him back. What it look like from the outside, is the FLD heads are to BIG headed to know a good thing when they got it and are playing 'the a-hole' roll. Idiots, simply put. swallow your pride and get on with the show. just like NY to have fools celebrating victory before the games over.

Its about time you mentioned The Glen! As for GT (Spec) racing... At what point will the rule-makers realize that I want to watch a car I can actually purchase race? That's why I watch the FKA Koni Series more than the upper series. Racing pushes technology, that's why billions of dollars are spent per year doing it. NASCAR is useless, and tube-framed cars are almost as bad. What actual person would choose to race in a Subaru Legacy rather than an STI? The rules make it so. So go ahead, continue to bar the cars people want to see because they are too modern. You want to go back to the hay-day of GT racing in America? Go back to the sets of rules that allowed the popularity in the first place. Tell me that a manufacturer would not spend some money bragging and hence, promoting the sport. Idiots.
