Chevrolet - Your bowtie is waiting Chevrolet seems to me has paid more attention to its image than to its cars. My wife and I were looking to buy a car and were disappointed to find that every model in their showroom was made outside of North America (except for the one we couldn't afford, the Impala). We decided on a Focus WRC and were thrilled with it. The clutch is a little light, but it's a more substantial car than the Chevy's we looked at. We owned a Crown Vic before and that was a great car but I was disappointed I couldn't buy GM. Our second vehicle in the driveway is a Chevy truck. I would rather drive the pickup than the Focus, or any of the three motorcycles in the driveway (CBR 125R, Boulevard S50, or Hyosung 250 Aquila). I would swap everything for a good Chevy car, made in North America. When the imports all brought out their 'high end' car companies; Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, GM did the reverse. They brought out the Saturn and made Chevy their 'high end' brand, killing their 'grass roots' new and first time car buyer market. I've never driven a Saturn, we don't even have a Saturn dealer in our town. How can Saturn be a car for everyone when there isn't a dealer everywhere? It doesn't make sense and I think that cost them dearly. If the Saturn had been outfitted with bowties we would have had some more choices available. It's odd they gave it a name that's so far 'out there' when they are cars that are made right here. Cars for the rest of us. So what can be said about them now? It's like I said, Chevrolet is about image, and there can be something good to say about that. Doesn't everyone deserve to dress up once in awhile? That's what you can say about Chevy, it's distinction from the rest. Fox News is reporting that car-maker Toyota has just released a press statement on their web sight that directly links the "sticking peddle", and the newly released Prius breaking system malfunctions to one overzealous engineer who was upset at the company’s seeming in-ability to perform on the race track. The engineer has been reported as quoting: “We have spent over 3 billion dollars on our now failed F1 team, and our executives believe that pretending a Carolla is not a 1980’s era Ford, and allowing some red-neck to drive it is going to help our brand. I am tired of being criticized by fellow engineers at Subaru, Honda, Tommy Kaira, and now even Hyundai! I will show them that we can design a car that goes fast without a billion dollar budget!” It seems that the two sports he was directly referring to were Formula 1 racing, an awkward an extremely expensive sport where the cars have no fenders, and race on tracks with more than merely left or right turns at every event, and an extremely unfair assessment of NASCAR. It is common knowledge that every manufacturer in NASCAR has a unique vehicle and engine design, and while it is dependent on driver skill, it cannot be fairly stated that the Carolla is based on a “1980’s era Ford”, unless that is what the engineers at Toyota designed their car to be. This, of course, would be a violation of the rules in NASCAR because stock cars are supposed to be based on vehicles motorists can actually buy. Furthermore, it is raciest to believe that people like Michael Waltrip, Denny Hamlin, and Scott Speed, (a former Formula 1 driver himself) are “rednecks”, and Robby Gordon is actually from California. We here at Fox News believe that this particular engineer should be brought to the US for trial, and Toyota should be prosecuted for hiring negligence. Meanwhile, NASCAR should investigate Toyota and its development of its NASCAR racer to see if the allegations against it are true, and Toyota should be barred from competition at Daytona and other events until the investigation is completed.

Anyone ever consider Chevy dropped the tag line, because they are going Global, and becoming a Global Brand might mean not being just An American Revolution, but a better option for the world. I am sure you will see a new tag line/motto more in sync with being a Global Brand Soon! How about Chevy: Safer than a Toyota Chevy: World Wide we will get you there Chevy: we built some of the most iconic, well built cars in history, but people forgot! I find it amusing that people do not see the resemblance Toyota now has to the big three when they were at their worse. they badge engineer, Lexus are Just Toyota's with nicer appointments and suspensions, they barely change the bodies you still can tell an ES is a Camry. GM and Ford, are clawing their way to the top, but believe me it does not matter, because unlike America. The next world economic superpower are going to take care of their own brands first. Japan did it, and China will to. We have had a disadvantage in Global sales which handicapped our brands, because our Government did not stand it ground!
