Hybrid's of the Geneva 2010 Auto Show - Road Testament - 3/04/2010

Alex your an asshat, you need to be a little more open minded.

I don't like the thursday episodes for several reasons most of which have been covered by my fellow FLD fans. Alex you're an awesome driver but your opinions suck! Lastly I like hearing the reports of the new tech coming out in the industry but hybrid tech sucks I'm sick and tired of hearing about these "awesome" hybrids that have 100 bhp, weigh more, and have a shorter cruising range than the car I already drive. My idea of worth while green tech would be a street car that runs on Methanol (NOT ETHANOL) but Methanol the race gas that they run in Alchohol funny cars, previously run in Champ cars, ect. It's proven technology why is it overlooked, just a thought!

Tell me that the Porsche doesn't look like their LMP2 Spyder.  That's the type of racing technology going to the street that we should see more of!  Another example would be the new hybrids you guys are talking about.  VW doesn't race in F1, and neither do any of their marks, but look where currs has ended up.  As for you green cars, unless the green tech saves me money without sacrificing performance, or enhances performance, I don't want it, so sure, I'd take a free LFA, sell it for cheap, and buy a GT3071R turbo for my A4.

I´m sry, but I love the LFA, mostly because of it´s design and its new technologies...

1.nooo actually there was a carrera GT concept before the production model.  2.Ture the LFA is a complete loss,  the onlything people really like about the car is its RPM range and exhaust note.   actually the car really isnt that stunning.   One would say  Even the upcoming Mclaren is also a loss, as its bringing nothing new to the table, if mclaren isnt making a better mcF1  then really they should be making a GTR level car at a GTR price point.    the 918 is really the best supercar achievment to date (although we are talking about a concept car)
the 918 may just crush the 458 italia.

toyota had a prototype racing at le mans in the late nineties in the prototype gt class which is basically less powerful prototype cars labeled with the stupid name gt which stands for a ROAD CAR or a ROAD CAR design with new parts. and the fact it took toyota 7 years and they had no wins is crazy even though the first 4 rows in f1 are separated by  2 tenths

As far as hybrids go,remember that Dr.Porsche made the first hybris in 1900 and he made an all electric 4-wheel drive at the same time .Don't believe me,lookin Wikapedia under Dr.Fernanad Porsche.

This would have been better suited to Leo the Suit. But why the chit-chat? What about NEWS+INFORMATION from Geneva? LFA is not even going head to head with other exotics, its trying to go above & beyond. I posted my predictions earlier about this automotive tragedy of Biblical proportions. What exactly were they thinking? Throughout car history, almost every [new] sportscar has tried to overthrow the Italians. And now Toyota think they can charge what, double? And zero prestige? Nor pedigree? They left every F1 empty handed. WTF? If Renault would have commisioned an Exotic during their winning streak, and priced it @ 55-65%, yeah, that might have worked. A-LA-ACURA NSX.

if i had money....i would buy  LFA over F430, SLS, DBS, ZR1, GTR, R8 or 911

that baldy is stupid .....LFA is far better than any  supercars  currently in production!
i would never buy a prius, but it is icon of hybrids...admit it !!!!

lfa is a sexy car and mostly great car to drive but the price sticker is so far out of reach they should of left it as a concept  by the way guys at fastlane daily this week is hybrids which are ok in somepoint of view but once you get down to its i would rather strap myself on to 4tons of c4 before i drive the so call obd-3 cars that going to be the next big thing look in to that  peace

very insightful segment. if toyota had focused hybrid tech in lemans racing it would have done wonders advancing that tech and showing the world its potential. as for the lfa... a couple days after it came out i forgot it existed.

I think the worst thing Toyota did was axe the Electric car in 1990.

The LFA is cool, but never made the list. It was a better concept showing us what they could do, but once you are in that price range there are just simply other cars I'd rather be driving.

the LFA is like the U.S. 100,000 dollar bill.. it has a ertain point, which is to advance the lexus racing technology... but its not your typical lambo/ferrari... its not a 458italia where everyone wants one... its going to be limited car thats going to be a collection item rather than a showoff... basically its like the M1 of bmw for lexus...

did it occur to you that VW is thinking like most logical Europeans, which is thinking in ABSOLUTES .... either a car is fossil fuel or electric ... so I am going to hold on with my fossil fuel until electric establishes itself, instead of risking buying a hybrid (which sounds like a mix and match solution), therefore, by waiting for some e-megatron vehicle with ridiculous torque and cute little motors on each wheel that produce mega kilowatts I can avoid the half-breeds which are really transition temporary solutions that I am not willing to lose money over.  Also, if I am buying a sports car probably better to wait a while for the Nissan R36 GTR E-bot megatron electro monster .... nuff said

Agree with Alex on the LFA it's a dog and last on the list.

agree with LFA comment (should have avoided head to head with Ferrari 458 and Nissan GTR), agree with Porsche but it is a concept and remember that the boxster road car was a HUGELY watered down version of the ultra cool and detailed concept car! The porsche will be hugely expensive anyway.  Please leave celebrities out of it.  AWD is the hallmark of Audi and a big reason for buying it.  Racing is not related to commercial cars, Renault does not have any cool road car (although they were involved in the Nissan GTR which is a marketing flop, the GTR should have been a Renault creation saying Renault is finally translating race tech to the road). Why no comment on C25 Carlsson?

I totally disagree with the LFA comment, i think it's a really cool car and if i had a disposable income, i'd get one. wish i could.... :(
