The guy with the Prius' a scam I believe ( maybe angry at his dealer or something.. )  adding fuel to the issue media been giving to Toyota. 
    Sure they have a problem and it needs to be fixed but as for this guy it's an exception.

One thing I'm curious about is the EPC(electronic pedal control). I have a 02 VW GTI which is throttle by wire and if I push the gas and the brake at the same time the computer automatically kicks the gas input out. I can't imagine the Toyota's not having throttle by wire systems. If he was pushing the brake, it should do the same by kicking the gas input. The media is retarded by not getting all the facts right but that's the whole right to press stuff. They only want to show what will get ratings.

The LEXUS LF-A is a FERRARI 599 at twice the price. It isn't faster, prettier, or actually cooler. On top of that, you can actually BUY not lease an F599. The LF-A is an epic fail simply because it is too costly... and TOYOTA isn't making a dime off the car. 

Also you guys, how can you be considered even knowledgeable about cars, car news, and happenings and not know FIRESTONE was the tire company involved in the SUV roll-over recall. To save costs, the tires were belted with less durable Nylon and not Steel. It was a spitting contest between FORD and FIRESTONE for a couple of years over who needed to pay for the recall. TPMSs were added as a result of tires being under and over inflated, after the FORD/FIRESTONE fiasco, resulted in vehicles not just SUVs still rolling, flipping, and skidding on otherwise good tries.

Lastly, the media, if you mean the bigger TV and radio channels and stations go for sensationalism. They are not overly interested in reported good news only bad news because that is what grabs an audience. I'm sure that the "media", a very nebulous term to be sure, would gladly play up the good news for DETROIT if they thought it would grab an audience. If nothing else shouldn't they be keeping tabs of on OUR automakers, if for no other reason than to keep them working to improve and to report on any improvement or lack thereof... that's why I go to car websites, read car mags, and watch car shows. It's the only why to really find out what is going on with cars in a "fair, balanced, and largely complete" way.

You guys are right. The media controls everything. It sucks that they're also idiots(FLD EXCLUDED (you guys rock)). Here's the thing about freeways in S.D(having gone to Revelle at UCSD for three years) ....they suck until you enter the city of S.D. itself (not the county,which starts right after San Clemente, but the city).  The problem is the driver. People that don't know to put they're car in neutral are dumb. I never would have shut off the engine(for fear of losing power steering), but I would have used the e-brake, and completely destroyed the transmission, in order to halt the car. This guy wasn't lying the brakes had been worn down to almost nothing, but he was dumb. BTW LFA SUCKS!!!!

Sounds like the guy in the Prius is trying to take advantage of the situation that Toyota is in. People looking for a pay day with whats going on. If it is such a huge problem why is it that you dont hear about the "unintended acceleration" problem from the European market. In my honest opinion the media is at fault for half the problems. They have nothing better to report on so their goal in lif right no is to F*ck Toyota the same way they did Audi in the late 80's.

This story is absolutley redonkulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stuck at 94 mph? really, does this seem a little like a publicity stunt to anyone else? What ever happened to throwing it in neutral and then hitting the brake? this guys retardation should not be put on the news, sure toyota has problems that need to be addressed, but stuff like this is completely uncalled for, especially when there is such a simple soulution like neutral. I feel liek this guy should be givin a speeding ticket ASAP!
