Death Valley, CA - On May 29th, seven Jaguar prototypes were spotted while in hot weather testing in Death Valley California. Of the seven test vehicles, two were S-Type mules converted to hold the drive-train of the upcoming XF-R. Indicated by their testing permits taped on the front windshield, the early stage prototypes have been in the country testing for the past month. The XF-R mules, fitted with an S-Type body, have the sound much like that of an Aston Martin Vantage. Witnesses say they couldn't hear the distinctive whine of a supercharger, like that in the current jag XK-R. Also spotted within the fleet of Jaguar prototypes is evidence of future company-wide interior upgrades. Within all the vehicles spotted, the traditional Jaguar "J" gear shift was absent. It appears that Jaguar may be modifying the interior of all current models to resemble that of the XF interior. Such modifications include an i-Drive like center console with circular gear-shift.
