Great balance of entertaining and informative - without the bore. This is the kind of automotive journalism we are hungry for. Thank you for a great job Leo! This is where you shine- this is where you should be.
Thanks again.
Leo...dude why aren't you on top gear America. Stellar presence, good facts without being boring. Great presentation over all. Wish they'd let you take that bad boy to the track, or at least an empty large parking lot, some throttle blipping scenes or exhaust notes would have made this even better. Overall brilliant review, you should do this more often.
To Mikey D...you're missing the point. It's a review not a comparison. For a current gen, factory tuned sports car, the Z is good value for the money. The evo Ten can out corner it..but thats about it due to power to weight being low 4WD drive train loss is terrible, and don't forget the understeer..... For a sports car with a warranty, the Z is brilliant.
A Corvette GrandSport would EAT a NISMO Z. Power to weight ratio alone would ensure that. Besides, if its great handling you want why would I spend all that extra money on a big heavy NISMO Z when I could have a miata which, in my opinion, is a much better "pure" sports car. I haven't driven a 370Z before but I have driven a 350Z and I actually found it to be quite lacking, almost slow feeling. It has tons of grip but I'm not sure that that making it a better car to drive even if it does produce faster lap times. Speaking of which, an EVO would also eat a NISMO Z, and it would do it with a lot more practicality.
MikeyMcD... your an idiot.
Go out to a track... drive some "pure" sports cars at the limit... and get educated. Its not always about time either... the reason why we all drive fast is because it is fun. It sounds to me like the 370Z strikes a balance between a "pure" RWD sports with a 6 speed while stile being modern and while still having useable power. Drifting a Corvette Grandsport or an EVO for that matter anywhere but a track would be stupid.

the 370Z is much better than the former 350Z. Although I haven't gotten my grubby hands on the Nismo's steering wheel I can assure you this will blow the regular 350Z out of the water.
Corvette Grand Sport? that's around k more expensive!
Evo? not even the same class. If you really wanted something practical you'd go for the WRX STi in Sport Wagon form.
