I really want to support American cars, but the plastic in what should be a higher end car is bit ridiculous at times. Even Japanese econo cars have a way of making their plastic look a bit more integrated. But, and it is a big BUT…it looks like Gm’s new line-up might break that mould. The Malibu has a surprising well sculpted interior for instance. I sat in one and my first thought was not, "cheap"! I was still sceptical and I think that is the biggest hurdle American car companies in general have to overcome; no matter how hard they try. I guess time will tell.

You are right Mat. Sitting in a American car is shocking for most europeans like myself. Everything you touch feels so cheap and I don't understand why the manufacturers do that!!!

Hey Matt great episode. So did you get a chance to drive the Bullet Mustang? What about the Miller Challange car too. Also as your opinion about american cars changed any bit? I do remember you said mustangs suck during your rally from New York to Paris hotels in Vegas with Alex Roy.

SERIOUSLY… Combine this with FLD like news, real people like we have here and not some TV celebrities (who no true car guy gives a rat’s-ass about), Car & Driver precision regarding car performance and testing (skidpad, acceleration, braking etc.), mix in some funny antics and I bet a hit car series could be made to rival Topgear. Heck…I would love to try and make this happen if I was there, make it so! If anything, just give us some real world performance stats. It is nice reading about them in a magazine or on a website, but they are usually recorded by people who test cars for a living and sometimes they have a bias. I would be more inclined to believe people who do not have an editorial job on the line (they can get a 0.95 on a skidpad, but can anyone?). Toss a ¼ mile. 0-60, 0-100, slalom and skidpad, plus braking tests and a lot of us will be happy with that. I guess the problem is securing somewhere to do all the tests and money eh? PS: love the show regardless!

Bravo. Seriously. This was awesome. Get more owners/manufacturers/tuners etc to give you cars (and track time) such that you can produce these episodes on a regular basis...and seriousy who the hell will need US Top Gear. The only thing I would suggest is that you steal a page from Motorweek's book...and you show us (or at least comment on) the vehicles' acceleration, handling, braking...etc. Great stuff...really looking forward to the next test. Hopefully the manufactuers, owners, and tuners are forthcoming with their cars...and please woo the right people to get some Vettes for your next piece.
