Well I'm surprised that on a car guy site no one can understand the significance of the number in all z cars.  The 370Z is named that because it has a 3.7 liter engine.  The 350Z has a 3.5 liter, and you guessed it, the old 240ZX, shocker, 2.4 liter.
The names make perfect sense,  they're not just random numbers.

Matt I thought you were getting an RS5 not an S5? If you are now thinking of an S5, save the cash, get a 335i with the Dinan performance package and you'll have a car that will smoke a new M3. This month's Car & Driver said the S5 is nice but not a great handling car on the track.

Best Driving Songs: Agree that there are different ones for different situations.
For hammering a sports car hard, anything by Metallica is good but I also like Guns n Roses: Rocket Queen and Welcome to the Jungle come to mind.
For open Highway driving, Whiskey Rock a Roller by Skynyrd, Born to be Wild, Free Falling by Petty -too many to list.

The 370 argument (being lame) is a weak argument. Ferrari had 330, 355, and 575, BMW the 323, and a little company called Mercedes Benz had a car called the 370!! The also have the ML270. But there's letters in front so I guess Alex will have some sort of disclaimer.

370Z....well the only thing i can really think of is that they might use it as a platform for a nismo 390Z or why not a 400Z...

but yeah 370 just doesnt sugarcoat the car enough to make it that much better than the last one...even if it really is....seems really last minute....

now if they put the GTR awd system from an R-34 under the nismo edition 370 with 400hp.....it could be the cayman of nissan...

And the 350Z is also not a real great car I'm 1,95m tall and my head touches the ceiling so no car for tall people! Wonder how Matt fit in it...

QOD: I mostly hear rock songs while driving but it depends on how fast I wanna go. I use slow songs with melody for cruising and faster songs Metallica etc. for burning some rubber.

I agree with Alex on the 370Z. When I first heard it was gonna be named 370, I thought figuratively and literally, what an odd number! I still think they should have used a detuned variant of the GT-R engine and call it the 380Z or 380ZX if turbocharged. I mean think of the heritage: 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, 300ZX, 350Z. When spoken out loud, these all have a verbal fluency. Three-Seventy just sounds awkward.

Speaking of Sirius Satellite, I love Chill 35 for cruising. It's great, especially driving through a cityscape at nighttime. 

You need different types of songs for different driving situations:

Open road/highway cruising:
- Learning to Fly (Floyd)
- Radar Love

Speeding, Racing & Rushing through traffic:
- any good Metallica (old speedy stuff)
- Chemical Brothers (any)
- DJ Skazi (its like fast psytrance)

Slow boulevard cruising:
- i guess some kinda rap or R&B but im not really a fan, and not really a slow boulevard cruiser-type

Estoque has 2 be one of the koolest car names ever, cant get enough of saying it. lol and anything by lil wayne constitutes as great driving music. i also just downloaded the Ace hood mixtape and theres a song called get em, that really puts the paddle 2 the metal. Go hard by Dj khaled ft kanye west is another as well. love lockdown by kanye west is kool 2.

As a former owner of a 300zx Twin Turbo and a 2007 350Z I like the 370Z nomenclature. I remember hearing the 350z name back when it was 1st announced and thought it sounded a little funny because I was used to the "300zx" name.

I think it sounds a bit exotic to me and I bet in another few years looking back, 370z will be completely normal and we will be arguing about the new 250z or some weird next gen "downgraded" "smaller engined" Z.

Song wise ... Haggar's "I cant drive 55" is a must have along with Bush's "Speed Kills" as long as you don't take the song literally.  

as far as odd numbers go, at least the number means something, 3.7L. also Ferrari 512? .270 caliber rifle? Alpine 110 and 310? who cares its a number. everyone can pronounce and understand a number and a few letters better than names and are help people distinguish higher class models, ie higher number. 

estoque? yea lets name a car after a bitch sword they use to kill bulls, which is what lamborghini is known for, the raging bull.

4 door Lamborghini is cool "tweak" the rear end. So much better than Portofino concept. Top Gear reports this car is going to happen. Other publications report Porsche brass is less than happy about this car. This car will not happen. Hey Bruce Willis drove the Quattroporte in Miami Vice. Yeah its junk.

Citroen GT ugliest car? I don't know, not too thrilled about the Mazda Taiki concept car.

Credit crunch is going to be the only story for the next 6 months. Iceland is on the verge of bankruptcy, they are seeking a loan from Russia. Car companies......it's going to be painful. We all know what could happen. I just don't want to say it.

I would love a Cayman GTR from Farnbacher, even a base Cayman S, but it will never happen. You cannot deny the 370Z performance and handling (and I hate dealing with Nissan service departments), but a 370Z is a worthy alternative to a Cayman. So it doesn't have the snob appeal, so what. It's about driving. 370 is odd? What about 935, 5000, 230 etc.

Whats up With 4 door super cars. 4 door lambo is a total sell out. They want some of the Bently bling? Does this put the CLS exotic territory. So will the AMG CLS65 become a lambo fighter. Please. If you are in the market for a 4 door why! When you see a 4 door even a m5 why? You Know your wife would rather have a suv. You Gotta see my new conversion van with lambo doors. I think the 370z is getting there. It has a good base design and if it will seriously be a lower end Porsche fighter, what’s wrong with that? I will have to admit, I see a lot of 350z’s around, driven by people of all ages. It is an affordable sport couple and if their plan is to make it lighter, more aggressive looking and faster…uuuuh again…how is that a bad thing?

I think seek and destroy by mettallica is one of the best songs to drive to.
