Boy, that must have been about the worst attended auto show in history. Normally, small crowds give you a great chance to check out every vehicle and talk to the reps, but it really looked like a complete waste of time. Even the Shamu guy seemed depressed.
I bet Buick is pissed that they didn't throw a patent on those useless fender vents. Every multicolored, fart can exhaust, chicano with a '89 Prelude is rocking them, and not just limiting them to the fenders, megne!
* Wow, the LA Show looks so quiet & empty! No traffic. So is this a hint that DD's next car is a 370Z?! Sure hope so, the poor guy needs some girly action :D Don't you think thats being a bit harsh on Mansory? I mean, imagine if you're a football star & everyone arrives in an Aston, etc. You want yours a bit diferent right? Was the trunk open on the Aston because it looked about a CM gap at the trunk?! RE: Prototypes, usually safety standards, pedestrian standards, crash testing drown out a lot of the exitement from proto's to their street version.
No, I don't think I should be less harsh on Mansory, their cars are abominations, and if you want to spend 500 Grand to have a car that's "a bit different," buy a Ferrari F40, Bugatti EB110, or something actually cool.

* Hey Matt, Wazzup? It is Tuesday right? Where's the show? I see what you mean about the F40, etc, and sadly these cars are no longer in production. Nor are they daily drivers. Thats the beauty about buying an Aston is that you can actually use it as a daily driver. And what about parts & service for a Bug EB110?

What was with the Chrysler booth…they can’t answer question when on camera? I really liked how you pointed out that the Buick was just a re-badged Impala. That Riviera would sell like hot cakes if they could price it just under a G37 for instance. It goes to show from the coverage you guys have done and from observing what Cadillac has been showing; GM has the ability to make a good car. The new Mustang is also a testament to Ford finally working out details in a car line-up; rather than dumbing it down to make it cheaper and cheaper and cheaper...until it is a Mustang II!!! Now, Ford and GM simply and must take this type of thinking and apply it to their WHOLE car line up. Take what they did with the Cobalt SS and apply it the Cruze (to get rid of the glorified Cavalier stigma). GM also has something going on with their G8 and Malibu models. Really they are on track to, well, get back on track. Ford…still requires work. Outside of the mustang their cars are boxes on wheels. Absolutely no excitement…. I would like to have seen even more coverage and an even closer look at the 370z...maybe a test in the future Matt?
he Chrysler EV augments its electric-drive system with an integrated small-displacement engine and generator to produce additional electricity to power the electric-drive system when needed. The result: eight to ten gallons of gas will yield 400 miles of tranquility. Chrysler wouldn't design it any other way.

if that's the case, why hasn't Chrysler's revolutionary new technology shown up in any automotive news in the past year? I read all the major sites every day. Additionally, if it has a gas engine and an electric motor that would make it a Hybrid not an EV

Pretty funny episode. And that Chrysler electric thing is quite ridiculous... Guys if you don't have an electric engine at the time of the autoshow don't show the exhaust pipes of a gas engine. Or maybe the sound generator(brabus.com for Tesla Roadstar) is situated in the exhaust pipe. And I must make a commitment: I live only 150km from the Mansory facilities in Germany... And yes they make ugly cars and yes it's sacrilege. The TTS is hell of agreat car. With minor/major changes it is as fast around racetracks like the Ferrari F430 or MB CLK Black Series. ( Proof in the German Magazine Sport Auto)
Hey, I just saw your show about the big three on youtube. This site is cool. I would like to comment on the dodge challenger. It is JUNK. The dodge dealers say, "The American Muscle is back". What crap! The "Hemi" is made in MEXICO! Yep, that's right, MEXICO. It says that right on the window sticker. The autostick transmission is from Germany and most of the other parts are from Canada. It MIGHT be assembled here in the U.S. but I am not 100% sure about that. How is that an "American Muscle Car"? Maybe that kind of BS is why Dodge never could sell any of them. The Challenger is twice the size of my Fox Mustang and my Mustang is faster. It would be cool if you guys could do a review of the Challenger. By the way, You guys Rock!!! Thanks. P.S. The 2010 Mustang is bad ass.
The Camaro has is and was made in Canada…does that not make it American? Oh wait, Canada is on the Continent of America and Mexico is also within the boundaries of America (South America). Ever seen a map of the world? So, did you mean USA built? Cars have not been 100% build in the USA for quite sometime...something always has to come from outside. That is also true for all car builders.

Well Colleptic, You must be a mopar guy. The fact is that the new Dodge Challenger is a piece of shit and it is not a product of the U.S.A. Mexico really has no good standards for quality control. Have you ever been there? Why do you think they want to come here and work? Mexican companies don't pay well and they treat workers like shit. If your employer treated you like shit, are you going to care how good of a job you do? How can they take pride in their jobs if they don't make enough money to feed their kids? The "Hemi" is Made in Mexico and it is an inferior product. If you want to smell taco-bell every time you get in the car, then go ahead and buy one. It is still a big, overweight, slow gas sucking pig. Oh yea, Mexico is part of (NORTH AMERICA) You retard, Have YOU ever seen a map of the world?

* Today with the transfer of technology, and ISO Certification, it doesn't really matter so much where the car is built. Supplier logistics are of greater importance. You do however raise a very good & valid point about what it means to 'buy American'. Buy a Chevy! Did you know Louis Chevrolet was from Neuchatel, Switzerland? Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac was from France? That the Ford Police cruiser has > 80% foreign content? And that a Honda Accord has about 80% local content assembled by local employees? Food for thought.

I'm heading out to the LA auto show tomorrow. I was told the SL65 Black is being displayed. Pretty excited about that. Man, Kenya Hall has been sucking ever since fast and furious came out.
