With Ford's CEO making 22 Mil. a year that's over $10,000.00 per hour. It takes 9 hours to drive from Detroit to Washington that's 18 hours round trip, it just cost Ford over $180,000.00 to have him ride in a Hybryd. What a joke this all is.

Would I buy a car from a Bankrupt company? Well since most cars can be serviced anywhere and at normal garages these days...I do not see why not? The deals on the cars would be astronomical, one could probably get a car for 1/2 the price. Also, the car companies will not just drop off the map right away. If Porsche was going bankrupt, would their cars, all of the sudden, run like Cavaliers? This then begs the question; would you buy a piece of shit car, because it was cheaper due to a company going bankrupt? In this case I would say no. Most people are going to either buy what they can afford, or buy based on quality/performance (whether that is eco or sport performance). If the car company that is going bankrupt has nothing that anyone wants, why would anyone buy from them? If they have car lots full of Hybrids or Vettes for 50% off…why not eh?

QOD: The rate a vehicle is said to depreciate is directly related to the perceived value after it has been sold. For instance, if a vehicle is back up for sale after 3 weeks of being purchased, a prospective buyer would be more cautious and less willing to pay the asking price than after 2 years. That said, what will the depreciation look like on these vehicles? People are going to find real deals and not just from the showroom floor! Knowing this, would I buy new? No way!

I might buy from a bankrupting car company, but depending on what the car I wanted was. The only cars I would buy from GM are the Corvette and Escalade. It would be nice if corvette became their own brand and broke away from GM. Hopefully, they could pull out a few new car designs (Like a sedan corvette)too.

how do you track flights?

hey when you guys checked did you use a site that allows only pilots to check? cause i know if i felt like paying the fee i can track any plane any time as long as its filed a flight plan in the US. All you need is the tail registration number. and if they stop filing flight plans that means they are flying under 18k feet and using way more fuel than normal, spending even more money. and i have to disagree with the price of zr1, if they go bankrupt and stop making it, it would instantly become a collectors item, imagine owning one of the last of the great iconic american sports car ever made... $$$... and if it does drop im buying one driving it sparsely and just letting sit in the garage pristine because in 5 to 10 years it'll be worth it

So Boris Johnson (London's current mayor) and Captain Slow are on the list for an Evora - let me think - I wouldn't necessarily say that they were a good advertisement for the brand. And on the design of the Lotus - to me it has always looked like it was meant to be a soft top, in most of the publicity photographs I have seen the hard roof just looks like an after thought. On the QOTD There are several things to think about. Yes there will be some spectacularly good deals made available. However : Spare parts – The commonest items will not be a problem, the various after market manufactures will come in and be able to supply these. The problem comes when there is something specific to one model or even worse to one specification in the model range – it isn't going to be economical for an aftermarket manufacture supplying this so one the stocks held by whoever buys them off the bankruptcy administrators runs out, that is it, unless you have access to suitable engineering skills. A good example is when Rover in the UK went bottom up and were sold to the Chinese. Whilst this was happening, there were some ludicrous deals on their cars. A couple of people where I work bought one of the Rover 25 ZR's at a huge mark down on the price a couple of month previously. One is still running well, because she has access to the skills and parts to keep it going (her husband is a motor sports engineer). The other was sold after six months or so, at a huge percentage loss on the purchasing price (OK in real terms it was not a big loss as the purchase price was low). So if you have access to the skills and can get a deal on the car that you can justify to yourself, and are happy that there might be extra time and expenses incurred if it breaks down in the future then go for it.

QOD: The difference here is if you mean Bankruptcy Protection of just Bankrupt as in "Flat broke with no means to make money at all". If the former, then yes I would. But this would be contingent on the company actually making obvious and effective efforts to put their house in proper working order. If the later, only if I knew I could attend to the cars maintenance needs for the foreseeable future. Otherwise no.

It's so ridiculous. No carmaker has privat jets only the not so big three need them. Why? Can't they take a normal flight in business class or for only a few hundred kilometres their company cars? That's what the successful automakers like MW ´, Audi etc. do. I see them quite often in my hometown for a meeting and they travel the 150 to 200km by their cars. And they also use them for longer trips. Also if GM's officials would use their products more often it would be a sign for the public that their cars aren't that bad. I like the new Lotus. It has enough room so that I can drive it without having bruises all over my body. But the celebrity list is weird and confuses me. On the one hand there are guys from which I know are into cars but then there are Beyonce and JLo... Well it's the first Lotus their butts fit in but I don't think they are the average Lotus customer. QOD: People should buy from these companys to ensure their jobs and the jobs of others and to ensure that the car economy in the US won't break down totally. With the car brands all linked brands will suffer hardly too so a smart guy woud buy to help the brands and the economy and the community. btw. Cars from GM I would buy are rare. There is the Corvette Z06 and ZR1 and the Cadillac sedan with the ZR1 engine can' t remember its name.

lol, exactly what i was thinking, i went to a dealership this past weekend, helping my bro pick out his first car, and they had an 06 zo6 with 50230 miles on it for 42,000. so as far as i'm concern the zo6 is the only car i'd ever get from "GM" so the farther down in the whole they r the better. lol and as far as the spec v goes, major let down, i mean tuning shops r getting the base model upward of 600hp just by messing with the ECU and bolt on mods like exhaust and new intakes, so for the spec v 2 just have a 5hp boost and be lighter weight is lame, and i heard the price bump is massive. spec v's r gonna be about double the price, if u ask me, just get a base model and tweak it.

Great Episode! I have to say that Nissan is ruining the GTRs name with all the "shenanegens" going on. Yes, I would buy a car from a bankrupting company but my problem with the Big three is that the only car I would bother buying from them would be the ZR1 too. Nothing else really appeals to me. I personally don't agree that the government should help the companies. I think the Gov. should help the people who might loose their jobs by other means, but I don't agree with the gov. putting more money into the idiots pockets who brought the companies to this stage. I do think that if the big three bankrupt at least one of them will stop to exist because each one of the makes maybe one or two cars which sell well and the rest of their line up is crap. GM, Ford and Chrysler need more unique cars or they are doomed in my pinion. Finally if I could get the new Lotus I would. I like that car . IT is unique!

The Elise is a targa-top car with 180 n/a horsepower and SOME interior parts. The Exige is a fixed roof car with 200+ horsepower variants, less interior, and a more hardcore suspension.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE EXACTLY? Would I buy a car from a bankrupt company? YES! But Im not normal :D
