Meet the Team

Derek DeAngelis

Website
Fast Lane Daily Host

Derek "Derek D" DeAngelis, host of Fast Lane Daily, is an actor/comedian/host from New Jersey. He's been in national commercials, tv shows, films, print ads, and worked with many celebrities. Derek D. has done stand-up at some of the top comedy clubs in NYC & NJ, and hosted numerous shows & events around the country. You may have seen him on MTV, Lifetime, Oxygen, featured on Yahoo!, YouTube, MySpace, etc. He's pretty much an internet whore, just minus the whole porn thing. Derek D. walked in over two years ago to audition for Fast Lane Daily, and is still the funnyman host you've grown to love or love to make fun of. Right now, he would rather be eating filet mignon in his movie trailer with Megan Fox, but he'll settle for a Pork Roll, Egg, & Cheese and a Jersey Girl.

Matt Farah

Garage419 Host

Matt Farah, at the young age of 27, has quickly become the number-one internet personality for car enthusiasts who want honesty in their programming. He has worked in all facets of the car industry from dealerships, detailers, rental companies, transportation, automotive event-planning, and on-camera journalism. He is an automotive expert among his friends and fans, and his desire to always push the envelope while on-camera reminds the viewer why he got into this business in the first place: to have fun.

Ian Jenkins

Website
Cameraman, Editor

Ian Jenkins is a cameraman, photographer and editor. Currently he lives in Brooklyn, NY. After being undecided as to what to do in life, his path lead to video and photography, mostly because it was easy. He doesn't really have any skill, just enough ADHD and OCD to make it work. He's currently the editor for Fast Lane Daily, and does some camera operation when necessary.

Alan Kaufman

Supervising Producer

Fast Lane Daily's supervising producer / promotions producer / very occasional host Alan Kaufman has worked in every aspect of film and television for nearly 30 years. He started out as a sound recordist in Adult Cinema, made and appeared in television commercials, produced recruiting films for the military and was a long-standing member of Nickelodeon's production department. He left traditional media in fall 2006 for the Digital World. He see the progression from Porn to Internet Television as a natural, almost poetic progression. He lives in NYC with his long-suffering wife, 2 kids, 2 cats, and ton of squirrels, who appear in many of his promos.

Tom Morningstar

Cameraman, Editor

Tom Morningstar began his reign of terror through Video Entertainment in 1999 when he assisted Fordham Preparatory School with the conversion from Analog to Digital, thus becoming the Editor in Chief of FPTV from 2000 to 2002. Upon graduation Tom pursued a Media and Society major at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. His commitment to the advancement of student works was evident in his role as the founder of the Hobart and William Smith Film Archive. After college Tom chose to pursue his interest in videography under the guise of the car industry. Documenting underground car events and eventually coming to find himself as the principal shooter and editor for the internationally acclaimed web series, Garage419. The future of internet based automotive media will be largely impacted by his wholehearted contribution to both image and presentation.

J.F. Musial

Website
Producer

Next New Network's Automotive producer and editor J.F. Musial has grown into the miserable life of having two letters for a first name. He started his career by working in the engineering divisions of the the highway authority in the New York City area. When bridge inspections turned boring, J.F. went on to be a freelance automotive journalist and photographer. Such a move resulted in J.F. getting involved with planning illegal cross country races with Alex Roy. In 2006 after working with the team that set a world record of driving from New York to Los Angeles in just over 31 hours, J.F. was recruited to build automotive content at Next New Networks. On the side, J.F. acts as a supportive role for Team Polizei in the Grand-Am racing series and is an active member of the Princeton Mime Company.

Donny Nordlicht

Production Coordinator

FLD's Production Coordinator, Donny Nordlicht, has been coordinating cars since his feet could reach the pedals. Starting by arranging his friends' cars in his driveway, he now makes sure the Next New Networks Automotive machine runs as smoothly as possible. Joining the Automotive Team originally as an intern in 2007, he hasn't looked back. In fact, Donny's enthusiasm for all things auto has picked up and taken over his entire career path, leading him to become the Rye Record's car columnist, and Contributing Editor and Manager of Operations for GayWheels.com. He hails from Rye, New York, where he can still be found sitting on the same rock eating blue ice cream while he watches all the cars drive by.

Leo Parente

Shakedown Host

Host of FLD ShakeDown and occasional guest on G419, Leo 'The Suit' brings a career of automotive experience 1st working for auto companies - Ford and Toyota in sales / marketing field office and HQ operations and then consulting via pdcamarketing.com with other automotive brands [yes, GM included] and related companies since 1995. Along the way, he found himself involved in professional motorsports - driving, developing sponsorships, and creating marketing plans. Born in Boston and living in NYC, Leo awaits his DNA test results to find out if he is, in fact, the illegitimate son of Eugene Levy or Marty Scorsese. But, really he's just a result of having Joe Pesci, Howard Beal, and Lee Iacocca all trapped in his little body. Maybe a bit of Bill Parcells and Lewis Black, too.

Mike Spinelli

Creative Director

FLD writer and creative director of automotive at Next New Networks, Mike Spinelli's served the dual masters of the internet and cars for more than a decade. In 2004, he left a career in dot-com and IT market research to launch New York-based automotive website Jalopnik.com for Gawker Media. He left the top job at Jalopnik in 2007 to sleep late and eat risotto, while recuperating from the perils of blogging for a living. Since then, Spinelli has written on automotive topics for Wired, Popular Science, Maxim, Performance Car, and Outside magazines. He is currently contributing senior editor of 0-60, and a regular contributor to Popsci.com. He lives in New Rochelle, New York, where the rubber meets the road. Right now, he would rather be geeking out on Can-Am racing, dekotora trucks and vintage Group B rally footage.
