Study: Where is the Most Traffic and Poor Pavement in America?
A study conducted by the Reason Institute spent the past year examining America's traffic problems and road conditions. Four states that ranked on the bottom were California, Minnesota, New Jersey and North Carolina, while North Dakota, South Carolina and Kansas had the most cost effective roadways. Some good news from the study is that roads considered poor in condition fell sharply and poor urban interestate mileage is down 31 percent.
So to answer the question, where is the most traffic and poor pavement in America? (I bet some of you guessed it) — New Jersey, holding this title for eight straight years. However, New York, California, and Massachussettes aren't far behind so those of you embroiled in the NY/NJ rivalry have a little less ammo against each other.
