562,000 Miles and Still Going
A Diesel Volkswagen Jetta still running on the same muffler and drivetrain has managed to beat the odds and has managed to keep running for a half million miles. Exceptionally impressive for a car that could easily be overlooked as a throw away beater, the owner Syl Schmid has been driving the car for 21 years. Looks like with a little TLC any car can make the long miles. 
(Condition of the car is pretty good for being so old and long running)
Another impressive achievement is that Mr. Schmid claims to be getting over 50 MPG regularly. I wonder how fast he drives...?
