Go-Kart vs. The Cops

POSTED BY Tom Albrecht, 28 October 2007

An 18 year old kid slipped away from the cops in his Go-kart through the German town of Moenchengladbach the other day, managing to avoid capture for 3 miles. The boy outmaneuvered the police and found an open garage to lie low in. "We were chasing him across town, but the squad cars couldn't keep up because the go-cart was able to take the corners faster and he was able to get away," police spokesman Willy Thevissen said.

The police eventually found him in his hididng spot and brought him downtown on the charges of driving without a license and driving a go-kart on public roads. I'm surprised and impressed he wasn't charged with resisting arrest or tasered to the ground by the police.

Interesting note from the article: "Moenchengladbach has produced two Formula One racing drivers. Both Nick Heidfeld of the BMW Sauber ream and former racer Heinz-Harald Frentzen, who retired in 2003, were born there." Maybe this kid will be the next World Champion F1 Driver?
