Apparently it's really hard to notice a multi-ton tram coming right at you. Some people are so oblivious when they drive that they themselves become a road hazard. For example these fine motorists who couldn't bother to even GLIMPSE over their shoulders to notice the tram heading straight for them. They put mirrors on cars for obvious reasons, and fail people during road tests for ignoring them.
