My boss decided it would be a good idea for me to follow along with the Gotham Dream Tour the other day to get some footage for FastLaneDaily and VODcars. I happily obliged. Sadly my camera man backed out last minute but was very happy to find out my woman was available so I threw the camera in her hands. Once we pulled up to the headquarters in my Z06, Noah (GDC CEO) informs me they're a man short and wants to know if I'm willing to drive in the tour instead of taking the Z06. "ohh f**k yes" I think were my exact words.

We had a quick briefing on the rules of the road. The rules which were short in numbers and by no means strict. Then one of Noah's henchmen went over the basics of each car. After about 15 minutes of prep we were off to go.

The rides on this tour were the Gallardo Spyder, Bently Continental GTC, BMW M5, F430, Murcielago and last but not least the 997 GT3 (only manual car). Having only driven the F430 in the past I was very excited about the lineup.

Car choice was simple. Stand next to whatever you want to drive. I let everyone else choose first as they did pay and all. Amazingly the Gallardo Spyder was left alone. My girl and I hopped in and revved up.

Now on a side story my girl has recently gotten big into cars for obvious reasons. But she genuinely likes them and makes comments that of a true car person and not a girlfriend trying to kiss ass. I was very happy she was able to come along in these cars with me to get a feel of what I've been sating of late about these machines.

Gene's Verdict: Expected to hate it as much as I did.

When I was a little kid I was a big Lambo fan and didn't care for Ferrari at all. Obviously that's changed in a big way but it was unfair to Lambo as I had never driven one before. My hatred is no longer unfair. This car did everything just alright. It was kinda fast, interior wasn't too bad, paddles were somewhat quick, sounded alright in the upper RPMs..and looked like sh!t. I was wearing an orange polo driving an orange gallardo with orange rims. My woman made fun of me...a lot. Completely unimpressed with the car. Wasn't nearly as fast as I thought it would be. Wouldn't spend 100k much less 200k on the thing. The only thing that worked well were the brakes. They caught immediately and slowed the slugboat down with great anchor-like urgency. Maybe you're thinking well it gets the girls and it's exotic looking. My woman hated it even more than I did.
